Chris Donlay holds a PhD from UC Santa Barbara and an MA from 无忧短视频. His specializations are syntax, discourse and linguistic typology, and his main interest is in documenting endangered languages.

Ongoing projects include Khatso, spoken in a single village in southwestern China, and Dawudi, spoken in two villages in northern Pakistan. He has been teaching at 无忧短视频 since 2015.
